Have you ever looked at your daughter and made du’ah for her, prayed so hard to your Lord that this dunya doesn’t swallow her whole. You ever just hope that the example you are setting before her is enough? Praying that by giving her at the very least a foundation of her religion she’ll be ok in the long run? Am I the only one in sujood so long, begging my Lord to bestow his mercy upon my bint and asking Him to keep the love for Islam firm in her heart?
I have often felt alone. If you too have gone through that agony, you know what I have felt. Just think of what our girls are experiencing. Our very best friends, our “mini me’s.” Imagine what their going through, have gone through, or will go through.
Remember what it was like when we (reverts) came into Islam. I’m sure I’m not the only one who lost “friends” along the way of treading the path to righteousness. Now imagine what it’s like being 10-16 years old. Trying to identify with someone/something that this dunya tries its hardest not to accept. She is not alone! You are not alone!
Muslimahs Upon Tawheed came from the depths of my heart for all Muslimahs who have ever felt alone in “what they were feeling.” I want to start something so special, so rare, yet so needed. A place for our girls to see a mirror image of herself in her sister in Islam, yet nurture her uniqueness. They are All unique and Islam is beautiful. Let’s discover both together.
